Arne Jacobsen Station Wall Clock White/Black

Jacobsen drew this dial in 1941 for Lauritz Knudsen — a universal face meant to work in any building.

Rosendahl Design Group still produces the Station clock to the original drawing, under a domed mineral glass lens in an aluminium case that leaves the dial appearing to float behind it. Four diameters, from a 6.3 in desk-height clock to an 18.9 in wall piece. Browse the full Arne Jacobsen Clocks range. Rosendahl Design Group is a Certified B Corp.

Common Questions

Why is it called the Station clock?
Jacobsen drew it in 1941 for the electrical manufacturer Lauritz Knudsen as a universal dial for all types of building. Its legibility made it a natural fit for stations, and the name stuck.

Which diameter suits which wall?
6.3 in works on a shelf or in a hallway, 8.3 in is the standard room size, 11.4 in holds a kitchen or living room wall, and 18.9 in is for a double-height or gallery space.

Is this the original design?
Yes. The clock is produced from Jacobsen's original drawings and has stayed in continuous production — the proportions, numerals, and hand shapes are unchanged.

Arne Jacobsen Clocks +

Arne Jacobsen (1902–1971) is one of the most influential figures in 20th-century Scandinavian modernism. His clock designs — Bankers, Station, City Hall and Roman — were originally drawn for Denmark's National Bank, Aarhus City Hall and Rødovre Town Hall in the 1930s–70s and remain in continuous production. Each piece is built around an aluminum case with mineral-glass lens. Produced under license by Rosendahl Design Group, a Certified B Corp.

Care Guide +

Wipe Arne Jacobsen clocks with a dry, lint-free cloth — never use water, glass cleaner or solvents on the aluminum case or mineral-glass lens. Replace the AA battery (table clocks) or C-cell (large wall clocks) once a year to prevent leakage. Hang wall clocks on a single secure screw and avoid mounting in direct sunlight, bathrooms or near heat sources, which can affect movement accuracy.
