Sonja Djønne and Thoralf Lian started Heymat in 2016 to make a doormat that works in Norway's wet weather and looks like it belongs in the home. Each mat is designed with leading designers and uses recycled PET.

Blåne Doormat
An old Norwegian phrase for what lies over and behind seven mountain ranges gives this mat its name.
Caroline Olsson's design reads as forests and ridgelines seen from a distance, resolved into clean geometric bands. Winter catches snow-clad peaks in low sun; Spring wakes the same landscape in silvery grey and purple flower tones. It sits alongside the rest of Heymat's Norwegian doormats — dense, dirt-trapping textile made for a working entryway.

Two: 33 x 45 in and 33 x 59 in. Both suit a front or back entry, and the longer size gives two people room to step off wet shoes at the same time.
