Bowl Table Medium

Ayush Kasliwal's mid-size Bowl Table stands 20.5 inches tall, which is bedside and sofa-arm height rather than coffee-table height.

Every Bowl Table top is turned on a lathe by the Kharadi wood-turning community, whose skill Mater set out to put to work rather than imitate. The mango wood is sealed in a lead-free, water-based PU lacquer, and the milled hollow-steel legs detach for transport. At this height the Medium reaches the arm of most sofas and the top of most mattresses, so it does the job of a nightstand without the drawer. It shares its proportions with the rest of the family in our Mater collection.

Common Questions

Which Bowl Table size should I choose?
The Small stands 15 inches for a low lounge chair, the Medium 20.5 inches for sofa arms and bedsides, and the Large and Extra Large sit lower and wider as coffee tables at 18.1 and 15 inches high.

Can I put hot cups and drinks on it?
Drinks yes, wiped promptly. The water-based PU lacquer is a daily-use finish rather than a heatproof one, so use a coaster or trivet under anything hot and do not leave standing water on the top.

Does it need assembly?
Only the legs. The milled hollow-steel rods are made to detach for transport and fix back to the underside of the top, so the table arrives flat and goes together in a few minutes.
