Dip Bowl
Aaron Probyn, the East London designer whose homeware has been produced by West Elm and Pottery Barn, shaped the Dip Bowl as a pair of nesting forms in solid-colored porcelain: one round, one peanut-shaped.
The idea is a serving set that rearranges itself. The round Small drops into the peanut-shaped Large, sits beside it or stacks on top, so olives, dips and nuts share a table without a tray. Case, the London design house Paul Newman founded in 2005, has the bowls made in Sri Lanka from solid-colored porcelain with a gloss-glazed interior. Porcelain is the hardest-wearing of the ceramics, and these are rated for oven, microwave, freezer and dishwasher. Comosum sells Small and Large individually.

Common Questions
Is the Dip Bowl dishwasher and oven safe?
Yes to both. Case rates the porcelain for dishwasher, oven, microwave and freezer use, and the gloss-glazed interior means dips and oils wipe off. Avoid sudden temperature shocks, such as freezer straight to a hot oven.
Do I get both bowls, or one?
One. Comosum sells the Small (round, 4.1 inches across) and the Large (peanut-shaped, 7.5 inches long) separately, each in Blue or Brown. Buy both for the nesting set; the Small drops into the Large’s curve.
Is the color a glaze that can chip off?
No. The porcelain is solid colored, so the tone runs through the body of the bowl rather than sitting on the surface; only the interior carries a gloss glaze. A knock on the rim shows the same color underneath, not white clay.
