Solid Three Pendant Cluster

Terence Woodgate, Royal Designer for Industry since 2003 and held in the Victoria and Albert Museum's permanent collection, designed the Solid Pendant for Case, hung here as a cluster of three.

Each shade of the Case Solid collection is turned from oak, walnut or black stained oak, or from Carrara or Nero Marquina marble. Three pendants share one steel ceiling fixing, each on its own 78.7-inch (2 m) cable cut to length, for level drops over a dining table or a staggered fall in a corner. A patented support lets each shade hang perfectly vertical.

Common Questions

Do all three pendants hang from one canopy?
Yes. All three hang from one 11.02-inch ceiling fixing that hides every screw; each has its own 78.7-inch (2 m) cable, cut to length at installation, so drops can be level or staggered.

What bulbs does it take, and is it dimmable?
One GU10 LED per pendant, 8 W maximum; no halogen. Case specifies a Megaman PAR16 5.5 W, 2800 K, 500 lumens, so three give about 1,500 lumens, dimmable 100–5% on an LED-compatible dimmer.

Is it hardwired or plug-in?
Hardwired. It is a Class 1 fitting for a 120 V circuit, wired through push-in connectors in the ceiling bracket and earthed; Case recommends a qualified electrician. IP20-rated, for dry indoor rooms only.
