Chopped Paper Basket
Even the wastepaper basket gets the sculptor's treatment in the Chopped collection.
Handmade in Indonesia by Javanese carvers and turners for Ethnicraft, this faceted basket is black-tinted mahogany under a water-based varnish. Beside a desk or in a hallway, it does quiet duty while reading as a small carved object.

Common Questions
Is the Chopped Paper Basket only for offices?
No — its 11 x 14 inch scale also suits bathrooms, bedrooms, and entries, and many owners use it as a planter cache or catch-all rather than a bin.
Will mine match the photos exactly?
Almost — each basket is individually carved and turned by hand, so facets and grain vary slightly. That variation is the signature of the Javanese artisans who make it.
