Dis Doormat

Morning mist — dis in Norwegian — gives this mat its gradients: seafoam into deep blue, clay into rust.

Vera & Kyte built the Dis collection around shifts in color rather than pattern, so the graphic reads soft instead of geometric: Ocean fades North Sea blue into green, Fjord layers the deep blues of Norway's waterways, Rust moves from deep red to pale clay, and Moss runs forest green into golden yellow. Heymat weaves the pile in Belgium from 100% recycled PET — post-consumer drink bottles — over a nitrile rubber backing that is itself 20% recycled. The all-weather versions sit alongside it in the Heymat collection.

Yes. Heymat specifies 140°F (60°C) with regular bleach-free detergent, then tumble or flat drying. Mats up to 33 x 59 in fit a standard home machine, and Heymat suggests washing two to four times a year.

Is Dis meant for indoors or outdoors?
Indoors. The recycled PET pile absorbs moisture and holds grit while the rubber backing keeps floors dry. For an exposed doorstep, choose one of Heymat's all-weather mats such as Sand, Strå or Måne.
