Tala was founded in 2015 by three Edinburgh University friends. Its London team designs and engineers its LED lighting in-house, in aluminium and brass rather than plastic, and builds it to be durable and repairable.

The Elva Pendant Light pairs a compact, exposed-filament bulb with a single hanging pendant, available in Brass, Graphite, Oak, and Walnut — Elva also comes in a clear, non-tinted finish, sold separately since the glass change affects the light's tone, not just its color. Common Questions
Is the bulb included?
Yes — the fixture ships with Tala's Elva tinted bulb already threaded into its E26 socket, so it's ready to hang and switch on as soon as it's wired in.
Do I need a dimmer?
A dimmer isn't required, but connecting Elva to a compatible dimmer lets you use its full brightness range smoothly instead of just on/off.
Why is the glass amber-colored?
Elva's tinted version uses iron-tinted glass and a phosphor-coated filament to create a warmer, amber-toned glow than the clear, non-tinted version.
