Founded in 2015 by Edinburgh University friends Josh, Max, and William, Tala is committed to creating design-led, sustainable lighting that enhances homes and supports a low-carbon world. Our lighting is engineered in-house with top-quality components to withstand the test of time. Inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright's philosophy of staying close to nature, we infuse our designs with biophilic principles, using responsibly sourced, recyclable materials like aluminium and brass, and avoiding plastic. We prioritize circular design, creating durable, repairable products to combat electronic waste, and our high-quality LED technology, which is 90% more efficient and lasts ten times longer than traditional lighting, significantly reduces CO2 emissions.

Tala is dedicated to impactful environmental initiatives, having planted over 130,000 trees through various reforestation projects. We are carbon neutral on all inbound shipments, with a goal of reaching net carbon zero by 2025. Our commitment to sustainability extends to 100% plastic-free packaging, saving approximately 8,000kg of single-use plastic annually. Unplug from the outlet and let the fixture cool completely before cleaning or changing the bulb. Remove the bulb before wiping down the fixture; handle bulbs with a cloth or gloves to avoid oil transfer from bare hands. Clean with a feather duster or dry, lint-free cloth only — avoid solvents, abrasives, water, and vigorous rubbing. When reinstalling a bulb, thread it in until snug without over-tightening.
