Boat-builder’s joinery scaled to a 70-inch cabinet — the tallest Boderne turns a wall of storage into display, shelf by shelf.

Designer Rasmus Appel grew up around Bornholm’s boat-building and shaped the Boderne after its oak dinghies, known for fine proportions, construction, and joints. The tallest of three heights in the series from FDB Møbler, it stands 70.1 inches in nature lacquered oak, each shelf tested to 44 lbs.

Yes — at 70.1 inches high and 35.2 inches wide, this is the tallest of the three sizes. The others stand 50 and 41.7 inches for lower walls or sightlines.

Each shelf is tested to 20 kg — about 44 lbs — so full rows of books, stacked ceramics, and heavier display pieces are all within its working range.
