Between the shallow and the deep sits the 9.4-inch plinth — the base for mid-depth cases in Koch’s 1944 system.
Like the book boxes it supports, this plinth from FDB Møbler is solid oak, nature lacquered — a 3.9-inch-high base that lifts the lowest case of a stack off the floor. It is sized for narrower B98 cases around 14.2 inches wide with a mid-range depth.
