J148 2-Person couch - Red

The red-diced check — the horse-blanket weave Danes recognize on sight — has upholstered this couch since 1978.

This is the J148 in its most traditional dress: red diced wool, dense and warm, on the nature lacquered oak spoke-back frame Erik Ole Jørgensen designed for FDB Møbler. Loose cushions and a 60.2-inch width make it the range's cozy, compact couch.

Materials

Nature lacquered oak frame; red diced wool upholstery

Dimensions

60.2 in W x 28.1 in D x 31.1 in H; 59.5 lbs

Designer

Erik Ole Jørgensen, 1978

Care

Vacuum with a soft brush attachment; blot spills; plump cushions to restore loft

Common Questions

What kind of fabric is red diced wool?
A red-checked wool weave descended from horse-blanket cloth, long associated with Danish spoke-back furniture; wool is a dense, resilient natural fiber that keeps its look through years of daily use.

How do I look after wool upholstery?
Vacuum it with a soft brush attachment regularly; wool cushions recover their loft with a shake and a plump, and spills should be blotted at once with a dry cloth.

Care Guide +

FDB Møbler furniture is crafted from FSC-certified wood, powder-coated steel, and OEKO-TEX textiles. Keep away from direct heat and sunlight. Dust with a soft cloth; clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. For lacquered surfaces, avoid harsh chemicals. For oiled wood, re-oil periodically. For upholstery, vacuum regularly and address spills promptly. Lift furniture rather than dragging across floors.
