J164 is the Danish designer Jørgen Bækmark’s take on a high stool with a square, comfortable seat. While Danish designers have produced a wealth of dining chairs and armchairs, it is the first time that a high stool is being written into the Danish design tradition. With its paper cord seat and simple, functional lines, it is a perfect match for other pieces of furniture in the Danish design tradition. J164 comes in different versions and was released to celebrate Jørgen Bækmarks 90th birthday.

Jørgen Bækmark (1929–2021) served as design director of FDB Møbler from 1958 for nine years, democratizing design furniture through his quiet design language and meticulous attention to detail. His work celebrates solid oak and natural beauty.
