J27C Counter
Kitchen-island seating with 1940s Danish restraint: Mogensen's counter stool in pale lacquered beech.
The J27C from FDB Møbler sits between chair and bar stool — Børge Mogensen's simple frame at the height modern kitchens actually need. The beech is finished in water-based nature lacquer, keeping the grain light and visible.

Common Questions
Where does a counter stool belong?
At kitchen islands and counters around 36 inches tall — the J27C's 25.6-inch seat leaves comfortable legroom there, and it slides fully under the overhang when idle.
Will pale beech yellow over time?
All light woods mellow slightly with sunlight; the water-based lacquer slows this, and the gradual warming is part of the natural patina Mogensen designed for.
