J52G Rocking chair

Oak grain, natural oil, and rockers — the most heirloom-minded build of Mogensen's 1950s rocking chair.

The J52G from FDB Møbler descends from Børge Mogensen's Windsor-inspired J52B, gaining rockers for total relaxation. This nature-oiled solid oak version is the one built to hand down: refreshable finish, deepening patina, unhurried comfort.

Common Questions

What maintenance does oiled oak need?
An occasional re-oiling — a simple home task that revives the surface and lets scratches blend into patina rather than accumulate as damage.

Why choose Mogensen's rocker over a modern one?
Its comfort is structural, not padded: the reclined staved back from his Windsor chair supports you bare-wood, so there's nothing to sag or reupholster.

Care Guide +

FDB Møbler furniture is crafted from FSC-certified wood, powder-coated steel, and OEKO-TEX textiles. Keep away from direct heat and sunlight. Dust with a soft cloth; clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. For lacquered surfaces, avoid harsh chemicals. For oiled wood, re-oil periodically. For upholstery, vacuum regularly and address spills promptly. Lift furniture rather than dragging across floors.
