J52G Rocking chair - Black Green

Mogensen put rockers under his already-comfortable Windsor chair — and painted this one deep black-green.

In the 1950s Børge Mogensen extended his Windsor-inspired J52 family with the J52G rocking chair for FDB Møbler. This version wears Black Green (RAL 6012) water-based paint over beech — clean lines built for tranquility and contemplation.

Common Questions

How much room does a rocking chair need?
Plan on the J52G's 28.7-inch depth plus a few inches of rocking clearance front and back — roughly a 3-foot zone keeps the motion free.

Is the wooden rocker comfortable without cushions?
Yes — it inherits the staved, gently reclined Windsor back of Mogensen's J52B, one of Danish design's most comfortable all-wood seats.

Care Guide +

FDB Møbler furniture is crafted from FSC-certified wood, powder-coated steel, and OEKO-TEX textiles. Keep away from direct heat and sunlight. Dust with a soft cloth; clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. For lacquered surfaces, avoid harsh chemicals. For oiled wood, re-oil periodically. For upholstery, vacuum regularly and address spills promptly. Lift furniture rather than dragging across floors.
