M23 Lilleø Balcony chair

Named for a little Danish island, folded flat for a little Danish balcony — teak and steel doing more with less.

The M23 Lilleø balcony chair pairs nature-oiled teak with stainless steel in a light, sculptural frame that folds away to almost nothing. Thomas E. Alken designed the Lilleø set within the Sammen family for FDB Møbler — for balconies, patios, and cafés where space is scarce.

Common Questions

Does the chair really fold?
Yes — Lilleø pieces fold down to take up very little storage space, which is the series' whole premise for small balconies and courtyards.

What does Lilleø mean?
Literally 'little island' — the set is named after a tiny island off Lolland, Denmark, a fitting name for furniture that makes small outdoor spaces feel complete.

Is it comfortable for dining?
Yes — the 31.1 in high back and firm teak seat suit meals at the matching M26 balcony table; add time outside, not bulk.

Care Guide +

FDB Møbler furniture is crafted from FSC-certified wood, powder-coated steel, and OEKO-TEX textiles. Keep away from direct heat and sunlight. Dust with a soft cloth; clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. For lacquered surfaces, avoid harsh chemicals. For oiled wood, re-oil periodically. For upholstery, vacuum regularly and address spills promptly. Lift furniture rather than dragging across floors.
