Fermob Sixties Bench
Description
The Fermob Sixties Bench, designed by Frédéric Sofia for Fermob, extends the Sixties cocooning silhouette across a two-seat width — a piece sized for entryways, garden borders, terrace edges, and any space where a bench needs to do real seating work without being a sofa. The tubular aluminium frame is wrapped at the seat and backrest with woven polyethylene outdoor fibre, identical in construction to the Sixties Chair and Low Armchair so colors and finishes match across the collection. The two-seat width is sized for actual two-adult use rather than the narrower decorative-bench geometry common in outdoor catalogs — couples can sit side-by-side comfortably without their shoulders touching, and a parent can sit beside a child without crowding either party.
Manufactured at Fermob's factory in Thoissey, France — the same Burgundy site that has produced Fermob's outdoor catalog since 1953 — with cataphoresis-treated, UV-stable powder coat in 24+ colors. Available at Comosum in Cotton White, Red Ochre, Liquorice, and Cactus. Light enough that two people can reposition it without trouble; weather-resistant year-round; backed by Fermob's 5-year warranty against rust-through and powder coat failure. TSCA Title VI and California Prop 65 compliant. The Sixties Bench pairs well with the Sixties Low Table for outdoor coffee setups, slots into a residential garden as transitional seating between a path and a planted border, and serves equally well in contract environments where seating density matters and matching the rest of the Sixties range across a property is wanted. The two-seat width is also the right length for most standard entryway niches and porches between two columns. Light enough that a single person can move it for cleaning or a furniture refresh; weather-resistant year-round so it can stay outside through most climates with minimal cover, though storing under cover during prolonged freezing weather extends the powder coat finish life.
