Benoit Loos and Philippe Delaisse founded Ethnicraft in Antwerp more than 30 years ago. It makes solid oak and teak furniture in its own factories, and its Re-Loved programme refurbishes pieces for a second life.

Grooves Book Ends
Every line is carved by hand — which is why no two pairs read quite the same.
The Grooves book ends from Ethnicraft are cut from dark brown-tinted mahogany in Indonesia, their rhythmic lines carved individually so each piece carries its own small imperfections — deliberately. Solid wood weight keeps the shelf in order.

Are the carved lines identical on every piece?
No — each line is carved by hand, so spacing and rhythm vary slightly. Ethnicraft treats those small differences as the point, not a flaw.
Will they hold heavy books?
Yes — solid mahogany gives them real mass for their 8-inch height, enough to keep a full run of hardcovers standing on a shelf or desk.
