Holmegaard Forma
Cubes, cylinders and spheres — Bauhaus primary forms, cut in glass heavy enough to read as stone.
Forma came out of Séché Studio, the Copenhagen pair Laura Bilde and Linnea Ek Blæhr, for Holmegaard in 2021, and was nominated in that year's Design Awards. The pieces are solid, sculptural glass that happens to work as bowls, a vase, and drinking glasses. Parent company Rosendahl Design Group is a Certified B Corp.

Common Questions
Why does it feel so heavy?
Because it is solid rather than blown. Forma is built from heavy sculptural constructions in solid glass, which is what gives the bases their weight and their thick optical distortion.
What is the Bauhaus connection?
The forms. Holmegaard describes Forma as rooted in the Bauhaus era, where the cube, the sphere, and the cylinder were treated as the primary shapes from which everything else follows.
Is it mouth-blown?
No. Forma is machine-pressed, which is how the pieces hold their exact geometry — a mouth-blown version could not repeat these angles from piece to piece.
