Solid teak, left natural so the honey-to-brown range and the dark veining stay visible. The sliding doors need no swing clearance in front, which helps in a tight living room, and the open niche takes a box or a speaker. The top is 55.1 inches wide and 17.7 inches deep, which takes a screen up to about 55 inches on a pedestal stand. Anything wider will overhang the ends, which looks off even when it is stable.
Do the sliding doors need clearance in front?
No. The doors run across the front instead of swinging out, so nothing projects into the room. That matters for a unit only 17.7 inches deep placed along a walkway or at the foot of a bed.
Is teak suitable for an indoor piece like this?
