Six diameters, from a 4.3 in condiment dish to an 11.8 in serving bowl, all wearing the same furrows.

The Hammershøi bowls belong to Hans-Christian Bauer's 2015 series for Kähler, named after Svend Hammershøi, the painter and potter tied to the Næstved house from 1893 to 1948. Each bowl is glazed porcelain, dishwasher and microwave safe, with grooves that catch and release the glaze around the wall. Parent company Rosendahl Design Group is a Certified B Corp.

Yes, and microwave safe. Kähler lists Hammershøi porcelain for both, so a breakfast bowl can be reheated and machine washed without special care.

Yes. The whole series shares one furrowed profile and one chalk-white glaze, so bowls, plates, and cups build a single service across sizes.

Founded in Næstved, Denmark in 1839, Kähler is one of Scandinavia's oldest ceramic houses. Six generations of ceramicists have shaped its archive — from Hans-Christian Kähler's original earthenware to today's Hammershøi, Omaggio and Urbania collections. Each piece is hand-finished, with collaborations spanning Hans-Christian Bauer, Anette Krogstad and Stilleben. Part of Rosendahl Design Group, a Certified B Corp; ceramics use FSC-certified packaging and meet OEKO-TEX standards.

Kähler and Bjørn Wiinblad ceramics are wiped with a soft, damp cloth — most decorative pieces are not dishwasher-safe due to hand-applied glazes and decoration. Do not soak. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads. Hand-painted details should never go in the microwave. Keep out of direct sunlight to preserve color depth, and store upright with felt pads between stacked pieces.
