Kahler Hammershoi Cups and Mugs

Five vessels share one grooved surface, from a 3.4 oz espresso cup to an 11.2 oz handled mug.

Hammershøi is Kähler's everyday porcelain, drawn by Hans-Christian Bauer in 2015 and named for Svend Hammershøi, the painter-potter who worked with the Næstved house from 1893 to 1948. Each piece is glazed porcelain, dishwasher and microwave safe, with furrows that let the glaze thin and pool across the wall. Parent company Rosendahl Design Group is a Certified B Corp.

Can these cups go in the dishwasher and microwave?
Both. Kähler lists Hammershøi porcelain as dishwasher and microwave safe, so a mug can go from machine to table to reheat without any special handling.

Which sizes have handles?
The 11.2 oz mug with handle and the 8.5 oz coffee cup do. The 6.8 oz and 10.1 oz mugs are handleless, meant to be cupped in both hands.

Does the coffee cup include a saucer?
Yes. The 8.5 oz coffee cup ships with a matching furrowed porcelain saucer; the mugs and the espresso cup are sold on their own.

Kähler and Bjørn Wiinblad ceramics are wiped with a soft, damp cloth — most decorative pieces are not dishwasher-safe due to hand-applied glazes and decoration. Do not soak. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads. Hand-painted details should never go in the microwave. Keep out of direct sunlight to preserve color depth, and store upright with felt pads between stacked pieces.
