Omaggio Circulare Vase

Leftover clay from earlier production runs, worked again into the profile that made the house famous.

Omaggio Circulare is Kähler's circular-economy answer to its own 2008 icon, produced from materials left over from previous production that would otherwise have been discarded. Stilleben — Ditte Reckweg and Jelena Schou Nordentoft — kept the vase silhouette and split the surface: a rustic grey top above a hand-painted anthracite grey base. Three heights are drawn to stand together. Parent company Rosendahl Design Group is a Certified B Corp.

Common Questions

What makes it "Circulare"?
The clay. Kähler produces the series from leftover materials from earlier production runs, so each vase reuses what would have gone to waste instead of drawing on fresh raw material.

Why is the top rougher than the bottom?
By design. The upper section is left in the natural rustic grey of the reclaimed body, and the lower section is hand-painted anthracite grey — the contrast is the point.

Are the three sizes meant to be grouped?
Yes. Kähler drew the 4.9 in, 7.9 in, and 12.2 in vases to complement one another, so a stepped trio reads as one composition on a shelf or table.

Kähler +

KÄHLER has been a cornerstone of Danish ceramic craftsmanship since 1839. Founded in Næstved by potter Herman J. Kähler, the brand helped define Scandinavian ceramic design through a deep commitment to handmade processes, artistic collaboration, and material experimentation. Under the leadership of his son, Herman A. Kähler, the workshop became known for pushing traditional techniques forward while remaining grounded in craftsmanship—a balance that continues to shape KÄHLER’s work today.

That respect for tradition extends naturally into how KÄHLER approaches responsibility. As part of the Rosendahl Group, the brand operates with a long-term view of design and production—prioritizing durable materials, thoughtful manufacturing, and products meant to be used and kept rather than replaced. By preserving and developing Danish design icons with care for both people and processes, KÄHLER creates ceramics that reflect a quieter form of sustainability: objects made with intention, designed to endure, and passed on across generations.
