Omaggio Vases

Omaggio Vases
Between five and seven stripes per vase, each one painted freehand against a turning wheel.
Omaggio launched in 2008 and became Kähler's best-known object almost immediately. Ditte Reckweg and Jelena Schou Nordentoft of Stilleben drew it, and the stripes are still applied by hand — an exact wheel speed, a carefully matched load of paint, one soft movement — which is why no two vases are alike. Faience, in three heights plus a miniature set. Parent company Rosendahl Design Group is a Certified B Corp.

Common Questions
Are the stripes really hand-painted?
Yes. Each vase carries between five and seven stripes depending on its size, brushed on by hand as the piece turns — so spacing and edge quality shift slightly from vase to vase.
Can Omaggio go in the dishwasher?
No. Kähler lists Omaggio as not dishwasher safe. Wipe the faience with a damp cloth and empty and rinse it by hand between bouquets.
Which height suits a full bouquet?
The 12.2 in vase carries full bouquets and branches, 7.9 in handles a medium arrangement, and 4.9 in is for single stems, posies, and short garden flowers.
