Merge Footstool
Studio Segers designed the Merge footstool as the companion to the Merge lounge chair in Ethnicraft's 2026 collection, in the same recycled-content Loam fabric on the same Dark Bronze base.
The Merge footstool from Ethnicraft is sized to the chair: 25 inches wide, 21 deep and 17 high, so its top lands level with the chair's seat cushion and turns it into a chaise. Used alone it is a soft extra seat or a low perch beside a sofa. The Loam upholstery, woven and dyed in Romania, blends 39 percent recycled polyester and 9 percent recycled cotton with acrylic and wool and is rated to 60,000 Martindale rubs. Made in Romania, OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified, and it arrives ready to use on nylon glides.

Common Questions
Does the footstool match the Merge chair's seat height?
Yes. The footstool's cushion sits at 16.5 to 17 inches and the chair's seat at 17.5, so your legs rest level when the two are pushed together.
Can it be used as a seat?
It can. Ethnicraft rates it for 298 pounds, the same as the chair, and the 25-by-21-inch top is a comfortable perch for an extra guest.
How does the Loam fabric hold up?
Loam is rated to 60,000 Martindale rubs with lightfastness grade 5, so it is suited to daily use. A little pilling is normal for a wool blend and comes off with a fabric shaver.
