Ethnicraft
Solid-wood furniture from Antwerp, made to age well
Benoit Loos and Philippe Delaisse founded Ethnicraft in Antwerp more than 30 years ago. It makes solid oak and teak furniture in its own factories, and its Re-Loved programme refurbishes pieces for a second life.
- Solid wood, oiled or water-based varnished
- Serbian factory runs on wood-residue energy
- Re-Loved: refurbished for a second life
Nomad Kilim Rug
Woven by hand with Ashtari Carpets, each kilim carries the slight irregularities that only traditional flat-weaving leaves behind.
The Nomad Kilim Rug is made in Pakistan from 100% sheep wool, whose natural oil content makes the weave warm, resilient, and quietly lustrous. Its geometric pattern in natural tones brings a sense of global craft to living and dining rooms — a textile counterpoint to the solid wood of the Ethnicraft collection.
Materials
100% sheep wool, hand-woven flat weave

78.5" × 118" and 98.5" × 138"

Common Questions
Is the Nomad Kilim suitable for high-traffic rooms?
Yes. Wool's natural lanolin content and the dense flat weave make kilims durable flooring for living and dining areas; rotate the rug occasionally so wear and sunlight even out.
Will there be variations between rugs?
Yes, and that is the point — each rug is hand-woven using traditional methods, so small shifts in tone, pattern alignment, and texture make every piece subtly one of a kind.
Does it need a rug pad?
We recommend one. Kilims are thin (about 0.5 inch) and flat-woven, so a non-slip pad keeps the rug anchored on hard floors and adds a touch of cushioning.
