Ocean Chair

Description
The Ocean Chair, designed by the celebrated duo Jørgen & Nanna Ditzel, represents a fusion of classic design and modern sustainable practices. This collection was reimagined to address the pressing issue of ocean waste. Made from recycled fishing nets and hard plastic, each chair utilizes 960g of ocean plastic waste, embodying Mater's commitment to the environment.
Customers can choose between two elegant finishes - sleek black or serene sand - to complement their decor.
Structure & Durability: The Ocean Chair features a light yet robust structure, consisting of repeated slats and a metal frame with a gunmetal finish. This design not only ensures durability but also makes it suitable for outdoor use.
Sustainable Impact: In alignment with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, the Ocean Chair contributes to "Life Below Water" (SDG 14), "Responsible Consumption and Production" (SDG 12), and "Partnership for the Goals" (SDG 17). This product showcases Mater's dedication to protecting our oceans and promoting sustainable manufacturing practices.
Disassembly & Recycling: The Ocean Collection is designed for disassembly, allowing each component to be recycled into new production circles. This design philosophy extends the life cycle of the products, ensuring that they can be reused and recycled, reducing waste and environmental impact.
Accolades: This chair is not just a piece of furniture but a statement of sustainable innovation. It was awarded the Wallpaper* Magazine's Design Award in early 2019, celebrating its innovative design and environmental impact.
Origin: Proudly crafted in Europe, this chair represents international design and sustainability standards.
Versatility: The Ocean Chair is stackable up to four pieces, making it an ideal choice for both home and commercial settings where space and functionality are key considerations.
