Original 1227 Wall Mounted Lamp

This is George Carwardine's Original 1227, the spring-balanced task lamp Anglepoise has made since 1935, mounted on a color-matched cast iron wall bracket.

Anglepoise introduced the wall-mounted version in 2012 so the 1227 could work over a desk, bed or drawing board without taking up surface space. The articulated bracket and arms reach 34.5 inches from the wall, and the bracket is painted to match the lamp. More 1227 lamps are in our Anglepoise collection.

Common Questions

Is it hardwired or plug-in?
Plug-in. A 79-inch braided cable ends in a standard 2-blade US plug, with an inline switch 11 inches from the lamp. Only the cast iron bracket fixes to the wall; no electrical work is needed.

What comes in the box?
One complete wall-mounted lamp, in two packages: the Original 1227 with an E26 bulb, and its color-matched cast iron wall bracket. The table base is included too, so the lamp can also stand on a desk.

How far does it reach?
Up to 34.5 inches from the wall to the shade and 26.8 inches vertically. The spring-balanced arms hold wherever you set them, and the shade adjusts to aim the light.
