Port Square Coffee Table

The Port Square Coffee Table is the square-format companion to Jenkins & Uhnger’s Port collection — the Oslo-based design partnership of Trevor Jenkins and Christine Uhnger, whose work has been shown at Stockholm Furniture Fair and 3 Days of Design Copenhagen. The collection draws on the visual lightness and structural strength of Japan’s Shinto temple architecture, with proportions chosen deliberately: a clean square top, gently chamfered along every edge to soften the cut, four sturdy cylindrical legs that replace the more typical square section, and a discreet lower shelf that adds a layer of utility without disrupting the silhouette. The square format suits sectional or modular sofa arrangements where a rectangular coffee table would sit awkwardly off-axis. The result reads as architectural rather than functional, which is what Jenkins & Uhnger consistently aim for: pieces that anchor a room without announcing themselves.
Available in Oak or Walnut, with the matching timber used throughout frame, top, and shelf — not the Black Stain finish that Case also produces. The square top with shelf creates a generous surface for trays of glassware, art books, or a pair of candles, while the lower shelf adds storage without breaking the clean horizontal line. The lower height (15.16") sits comfortably below most sectional arms, which is what makes the square format work in sectional setups where a taller piece would interrupt the seating geometry. Assembly is required; replaceable components follow Case’s standard repairability approach across the catalog. Finished with a clear, low-VOC sealer that can be re-oiled annually if the surface starts to dry. TSCA Title VI and California Prop 65 compliant. For sectional living rooms that need a coffee table sized to the seating rather than the room, Port Square is the right proportion.
