Terho Pendant

Terho means acorn in Finnish, and Maija Puoskari's pendant wears the shape in solid linden wood and mouth-blown glass.

The glass — white opal or smoked transparent — is mouth-blown in Poland and capped with solid linden, matt lacquered in natural or stained black. Mater, the Copenhagen design house founded in 2006, makes it in three sizes and rates it for private and public use. It hangs with the Nordic lighting in our Mater collection, on a textile-covered cord with an E27 socket.

Common Questions

What bulb does the Terho Pendant take, and is it included?
An E27 socket, E26 in the US, with a 6 watt LED recommended. The bulb is not included. The textile-covered cord measures 78 inches and the fitting is CE approved and UL certified.

Can I hang several Terho Pendants together?
Yes. The three sizes are made to mix in clusters at staggered heights over dining tables and islands, or to hang singly in an entry. Mater rates the lamp for public use.

Where is the glass made?
In Poland. Mater has the shades mouth-blown there in white opal or smoked transparent, so slight differences in thickness and tone between two shades are expected rather than a defect.
