Tiptoe LOU Stool

Designed by the Tiptoe design studio in Paris and produced in Lithuania, the LOU Stool was conceived as a small piece of multipurpose furniture — a low stool when seating runs short, a bedside surface for a book and a glass of water, a plant stand, or a step-up in a tight kitchen. The seat is a single block of FSC/PEFC-certified European oak (PEFC/07-31-60), shaped and finished in a Tiptoe partner workshop and fixed to four powder-coated steel legs in a tight color palette. The construction borrows directly from the Tiptoe table-leg system that put the studio on the map in 2015 — the legs screw on, the seat unscrews for transport or recycling, and the entire piece ships flat. Tiptoe is a Certified B Corp (2021) and works with roughly 20 European partner workshops; LOU's wood is from sustainably managed European forests and the steel is the studio's structural workhorse, recyclable indefinitely.
Compact dimensions of W11.8 × D17.7 × H11.8 in and 9.9-13.5 lbs depending on color make LOU easy to move around the house. Available in four powder-coated finishes paired with a natural oak seat: Graphite Black, Eucalyptus Grey, Cream White, and Brioche Yellow. Assembly is a single-tool job with the supplied Allen key and screws — typically under five minutes. The oak seat develops a soft patina with use; wax annually with a neutral furniture wax and wipe spills immediately to avoid water rings. The steel legs only need an occasional dust and a damp wipe. End-to-end, this is a piece you can take apart at end of life and recycle by material — the kind of small, quiet decision that defines the Tiptoe catalog.
