Tiptoe MIDI SSDr Outdoor Chair

The MIDI SSDr Outdoor Chair is the outdoor-ready cousin of Tiptoe's SSDr recycled-plastic dining chair. Designed by the Tiptoe design studio in Paris and produced in Lithuania, it pairs a powder-coated steel frame — UV- and weather-treated for outdoor exposure — with a molded recycled polypropylene seat and back that holds its color and shape through full sun. The MIDI sits within Tiptoe's outdoor collection, the line the studio expanded into in 2023, and uses the same modular frame architecture as the indoor SSDr: assembles in about two minutes with an Allen key, stacks for storage, and demounts at end of life so the polypropylene and steel can be recycled separately. Tiptoe is a Certified B Corp (2021) and builds the recycled-plastic components at partner facilities across Belgium, France, the UK and the Netherlands. Polypropylene was chosen for outdoor use because it shrugs off UV, accepts pigment without chalking, and resists impact in high-traffic garden and terrace settings.
