Eternity Arm Chair
Space Copenhagen wrapped a slim steel armrest around the Eternity shell, molded from e-waste plastic and reclaimed fiber.
The organic Matek shell combines post-consumer e-waste plastic with coffee-shell or wood fiber waste, depending on the colorway, and rides on a frame of 20 percent recycled steel in a gunmetal powder coat. Mater, the Copenhagen design house founded in 2006, makes it in Latvia from Matek pressed in a hydropower-run facility and rates it for private and public rooms alike. Each piece in the Eternity series diverts about 4,330 grams of waste, which is why it sits at the center of our Mater collection.

Common Questions
How much wider is the armchair than the sidechair?
About two inches. The Eternity Armchair measures 23.2 inches wide against 21.1 for the sidechair, so the steel armrest buys elbow support without much extra table width.
Can the Eternity Armchair be used in offices and cafes?
Yes. Mater rates the Eternity series for private and public use, and the wipe-clean Matek shell on a powder-coated steel frame suits a high-turnover room.
What is the shell made of?
Matek, Mater's patented composite. Post-consumer e-waste plastic is recycled together with coffee-shell or wood fiber waste, and each piece in the Eternity series diverts about 4,330 grams of waste.
