B98 Bookcase
Paperbacks deserve architecture too — the shallowest B98 case brings Mogens Koch’s 1944 system down to 7.9 inches deep.
Koch’s book boxes became a Nordic design icon by being endlessly combinable: stack them, lay them low, or hang them on the wall. This shallow-depth case from FDB Møbler is solid oak, nature lacquered, 21.3 inches wide, with each shelf tested to 44 lbs.

Common Questions
Will standard books fit a 7.9-inch depth?
Paperbacks and smaller hardcovers, yes; large hardcovers may overhang. The B98 also comes in 11 and 12.6-inch depths if your library runs bigger.
Do I need a plinth?
Only for floor stacks — a matching B98 plinth raises the bottom case off the floor and finishes the arrangement. Wall-mounted or tabletop cases don’t need one; plinths are sold separately.
