J147 Armchair - Brown

Brown fabric over pale oak gives Jørgensen's simplest armchair the warmth of a well-used study.

The J147 sits in the 1978 spoke-back range at FDB Møbler with armrests deliberately left plain — no spokes, just clean rails around a curved back. Upholstered in MLF fabric, Brown 15, over a nature lacquered oak frame, it is built for quality time with a book.

Materials

Nature lacquered oak frame; MLF fabric upholstery, Brown 15

Dimensions

24.8 in W x 25.2 in D x 31.3 in H; 17.6 lbs

Designer

Erik Ole Jørgensen, 1978

Care

Vacuum with a soft brush attachment; blot spills immediately

Common Questions

Is the J147 suited to smaller rooms?
Yes — at 24.8 in wide and 25.2 in deep it is the most compact lounge chair in the range, and the open spoke back keeps sightlines clear in tight layouts.

What is the best way to care for the fabric?
Give the Brown 15 upholstery a regular pass with a vacuum's soft brush attachment and blot any spill immediately; avoid rubbing so the weave keeps its surface.

Care Guide +

FDB Møbler furniture is crafted from FSC-certified wood, powder-coated steel, and OEKO-TEX textiles. Keep away from direct heat and sunlight. Dust with a soft cloth; clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. For lacquered surfaces, avoid harsh chemicals. For oiled wood, re-oil periodically. For upholstery, vacuum regularly and address spills promptly. Lift furniture rather than dragging across floors.
