J147 Armchair - Dark Blue

In the ranks of the finest Danish furniture tradition — without shouting — and dressed here in deep blue fabric.

Jørgensen's J147 keeps the curved spoke back of his 1978 range for FDB Møbler but simplifies the armrests to plain rails, making it the quietest seat in the family. The Dark Blue 36 MLF fabric on nature lacquered oak suits evening light and long reads.

Materials

Nature lacquered oak frame; MLF fabric upholstery, Dark Blue 36

Dimensions

24.8 in W x 25.2 in D x 31.3 in H; 17.6 lbs

Designer

Erik Ole Jørgensen, 1978

Care

Vacuum with a soft brush attachment; blot spills immediately

Common Questions

How is this different from the spoke-armed J146?
The J147's armrests are simple rails without spokes, and the chair is narrower — 24.8 in versus 33.9 in — so it reads lighter and fits closer quarters than the J146.

How should I look after the fabric?
Vacuum the Dark Blue 36 upholstery with a soft brush attachment on a regular schedule and blot spills at once; the loose cushions can be rotated to spread wear.

Care Guide +

FDB Møbler furniture is crafted from FSC-certified wood, powder-coated steel, and OEKO-TEX textiles. Keep away from direct heat and sunlight. Dust with a soft cloth; clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. For lacquered surfaces, avoid harsh chemicals. For oiled wood, re-oil periodically. For upholstery, vacuum regularly and address spills promptly. Lift furniture rather than dragging across floors.
