J27 Stool
Some furniture solves one problem; Børge Mogensen's 1940s stool has been solving all of them since.
The J27 from FDB Møbler is the plainly useful piece Mogensen prized: dining overflow, a perch for conversation, a stand for whatever needs standing. This version keeps the beech pale under a water-based nature lacquer, grain on show.

Common Questions
Beech or oak — does it matter for the J27?
Functionally no; visually, this beech version is lighter and smoother-grained than the oak model, and both carry the Nordic Swan Ecolabel.
How does the stool age?
Slowly and well — Mogensen specified materials meant to acquire a natural patina over years of daily use rather than wear out.
