J52D Bench

Take the Windsor chair Kennedy reportedly loved, stretch it for two — that's Mogensen's J52D bench.

Based on his 1952 J52B chair, Børge Mogensen's two-seater bench for FDB Møbler keeps the curved staved backrest and light, harmonious lines. In beech painted Jet Black (RAL 9005), it seats two at the dining table or stands alone as an heirloom bench.

Common Questions

Does the J52D really seat two adults?
Yes — at 41.9 inches wide it is a genuine two-seater, with the same reclined Windsor-style back comfort as the J52B chair it grew from.

Where does the bench work outside the dining room?
Entryways, bedroom footboards, and window walls — anywhere a backed two-seater adds seating without the bulk of a settee.

Care Guide +

FDB Møbler furniture is crafted from FSC-certified wood, powder-coated steel, and OEKO-TEX textiles. Keep away from direct heat and sunlight. Dust with a soft cloth; clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. For lacquered surfaces, avoid harsh chemicals. For oiled wood, re-oil periodically. For upholstery, vacuum regularly and address spills promptly. Lift furniture rather than dragging across floors.
