The J81 Chair by FDB Møbler is a refined expression of Danish design heritage, originally created in 1962 by renowned designer Jørgen Bækmark. Part of his iconic woven series—which includes the celebrated J80 dining chair—the J81 carries forward the elegance and functionality that defined FDB Møbler’s golden age. Crafted in smoked, FSC-certified beech  with a hand-woven natural paper cord seat, the chair balances sculptural simplicity with everyday comfort. Its gentle armrests and supportive seat make it ideal both at the dining table and as a standalone accent chair.

True to Bækmark’s philosophy, the J81 is built with materials chosen for longevity and a warm, natural presence. It meets EN 1022, EN 12520 and EN 16139 (L1) standards for strength and general use, and is certified with the Nordic Swan Ecolabel—one of the most rigorous sustainability standards in Scandinavia.
