Common Questions

Why smoked oak instead of black paint?
Depth — smoking darkens the wood itself so the grain stays visible under the oil, giving a living surface where paint gives a flat one.

Who was Jørgen Bækmark?

Care Guide +

FDB Møbler furniture is crafted from FSC-certified wood, powder-coated steel, and OEKO-TEX textiles. Keep away from direct heat and sunlight. Dust with a soft cloth; clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. For lacquered surfaces, avoid harsh chemicals. For oiled wood, re-oil periodically. For upholstery, vacuum regularly and address spills promptly. Lift furniture rather than dragging across floors.
