Francis Mirror Coffee Table

Designed by Constance Guisset (ENSCI-Les Ateliers graduate, Grand Prix du Design de la Ville de Paris 2008, Designer of the Year at Maison & Objet 2010), the Francis Coffee Table began with a moment of observation in a painter's studio — the ephemeral beauty of pigments swirling off a paintbrush dipped into water, and the poetic quality of old, oxidized mirrors whose corroded backings had created unintentional abstract patterns over decades. Guisset hand-painted original watercolor compositions mimicking the movement of color through water, then digitally altered them to accentuate transparency and the sense of multiple semi-transparent tinted layers. The refined images are printed directly onto a laminated tempered glass mirror surface, then sealed beneath protective layers — giving the top genuine visual depth while ensuring exceptional durability against daily wear. The base is pressed sheet steel with matte grained powder coating. Two colorways tell different chromatic stories: Black & Blue pairs a black base with deep blue and violet watercolors that shift between midnight and twilight, while White & Green pairs a white base with luminous yellows and greens that evoke spring light. The mirror surface interacts with reflections above — ceiling textures, chandelier light, upholstery colors — so the table is never static. Winner of the Wallpaper* Design Award for Best Use of Color (2012) and Stylepark Selected Award at Salone del Mobile (2019).
The Small (Ø40 cm × H45 cm, 8 kg) works as a side table or sculptural accent. The Large (Ø75 cm × H36 cm, 19 kg) is a proper coffee table. The Extra Large (Ø110 cm × H24 cm, 45 kg) is the statement piece — a low-slung, expansive mirror surface that commands the center of a seating arrangement. Made in France. Most coffee tables are surfaces; the Francis is a conversation. Its mirror top reflects the room above while revealing watercolor abstractions within — a constant, subtle interplay between the world around it and the art embedded inside. The laminated construction means you can use it without anxiety: set your coffee down, stack books on it, live with it the way furniture should be lived with. The artwork is sealed, protected, permanent. Clean with a soft cloth and glass cleaner. Indoor use.
