Benoit Loos and Philippe Delaisse founded Ethnicraft in Antwerp more than 30 years ago. It makes solid oak and teak furniture in its own factories, and its Re-Loved programme refurbishes pieces for a second life.

Oscar Rack
Every narrow groove in the sliding doors was carved by hand — which is why no two Oscar racks match.
Designed by Alain van Havre for Ethnicraft, the Oscar Rack draws the eye with its atypical compartment division and five sliding doors. It combines natural and black-tainted solid teak on black metal legs, left untreated to showcase the material, and is made in Indonesia by the brand's artisans.

Why does the teak come without a finish?
Ethnicraft leaves this teak untreated to highlight the natural beauty of the material. Wipe spills promptly and dust regularly; the surface will develop character with use.
How is the storage arranged?
The rack mixes open compartments with five sliding doors, so display pieces stay visible while files, dishes, or clutter slide out of sight behind hand-carved fronts.
Are the grooves really hand-carved?
Yes — each narrow groove in the doors is carved by hand, which makes every Oscar piece subtly unique in rhythm and texture.
