Yes — the open structure is finished on all sides, letting light through while zoning an open-plan space into work and living areas.

How much weight can the shelves take?
Solid teak shelves on a metal frame handle full book runs; distribute heavier loads across levels and keep the heaviest low.

Does the black finish show dust?
About as much as any dark furniture — a quick pass with a dry microfiber cloth keeps the varnished teak and metal frame sharp.

For regular cleaning of the teak frame, use a soft brush or cloth with mild soapy water and rinse thoroughly. To maintain the natural honey-brown colour, apply Ethnicraft teak oil once or twice a year. For a silver-grey patina, leave untreated. Store cushions indoors when not in use. Cover furniture during extended periods of non-use or harsh weather.
