Vertigo Nova Wall Lamp

Designed by Constance Guisset — who studied economics at ESSEC, political science at Sciences-Po Paris, and spent a year in Japan's parliament before graduating from ENSCI-Les Ateliers (2007) and working alongside the Bouroullec brothers — the Vertigo Nova Wall Lamp brings the iconic Vertigo silhouette, one of the most recognized pendant designs of the 21st century and part of the MoMA collection, to the wall. The Nova evolution (2020) preserves the original's celebrated lightness while advancing every technical dimension: a more efficient LED circuit hidden behind a handblown triplex glass sphere of opaline sandblasted glass produces light that is simultaneously stronger and softer, sublimating the sweeping radial ribbon structure. Every unit is produced 100% by hand in France through Petite Friture's 12-year partnership with APF France Handicap, where 30 skilled artisans at workshops in Évreux and Amiens individually place each polyurethane ribbon onto the fiberglass structure — a process that cannot be automated. The triplex glass sphere is handblown, meaning no two are exactly identical. Guisset's accolades include the Grand Prix du Design de la Ville de Paris (2008), Designer of the Year at Maison & Objet (2010), and Red Dot Awards (2014).
The wall lamp extends Ø110 cm (43.3 in) with a total height of 104 cm (40.9 in), weighing 3.2 kg. The integrated 10W LED delivers 1,350 lumens at 2700K warm white, CRI exceeding 90, fully dimmable with a 50,000-hour lifespan and 5-year warranty. Steel frame with matte grained powder coating, textile mesh cable. UL Listed, IP20, CE Certified. This is not simply a wall light — it is a 43-inch sculptural object where hand-placed fiberglass ribbons create organic movement frozen in time, while the hidden LED and handblown glass sphere produce the kind of warm, enveloping glow that makes a room feel alive. The fact that every unit is handmade through a social enterprise partnership that creates meaningful employment for people with disabilities adds a layer of purpose to what is already an extraordinary piece of design. Winner of the SIT Furniture Design Award 2020.
