Before he led FDB Møbler’s design studio, a student named Børge Mogensen drew this wall shelf — the very start of an era.

Mogensen designed the B5 while still at the Academy of Fine Arts Furniture School, and it remains what it was: a simple, solid oak shelf, nature lacquered, hung where things should stay within reach, from FDB Møbler. This is the smallest width at 15.7 inches, and as a modular system, more shelves can be added as books or LPs accumulate.
