B5 Shelf - 15.7"

Before he led FDB Møbler’s design studio, a student named Børge Mogensen drew this wall shelf — the very start of an era.

Mogensen designed the B5 while still at the Academy of Fine Arts Furniture School, and it remains what it was: a simple, solid oak shelf, nature lacquered, hung where things should stay within reach, from FDB Møbler. This is the smallest width at 15.7 inches, and as a modular system, more shelves can be added as books or LPs accumulate.

Solid oak, nature lacquered

Common Questions

Can I add more shelves later?
Yes — the B5 is a modular system, so additional shelves in any of the three widths (15.7, 31.5, and 39.4 inches) can be added as your collection grows.

What will fit on the 15.7-inch shelf?
A short run of books or everyday objects you want within reach — at 15.7 inches wide and 8.3 deep, it suits entries, kitchens, and desks rather than full libraries.

Care Guide +

FDB Møbler furniture is crafted from FSC-certified wood, powder-coated steel, and OEKO-TEX textiles. Keep away from direct heat and sunlight. Dust with a soft cloth; clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. For lacquered surfaces, avoid harsh chemicals. For oiled wood, re-oil periodically. For upholstery, vacuum regularly and address spills promptly. Lift furniture rather than dragging across floors.
