J80 Chair - Ruby Red

Ruby red over straw-pale cord — the boldest colorway in Bækmark's woven dining series.

The J80 chair from FDB Møbler descends from the brand's 1950s golden age; Jørgen Bækmark built it around quality materials from paper cord to solid wood. Here the beech frame is painted Ruby Red (RAL 3003), water-based.

Common Questions

How does ruby red pair with the cord seat?
The natural cord tempers the red into something folk-classic rather than flashy — a combination with deep roots in painted Scandinavian furniture.

Is the J80 a good everyday dining chair?
That's its whole pedigree — designed for daily family use in the 1950s and still built with the same solid wood and hand-woven cord seat.

Care Guide +

FDB Møbler furniture is crafted from FSC-certified wood, powder-coated steel, and OEKO-TEX textiles. Keep away from direct heat and sunlight. Dust with a soft cloth; clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. For lacquered surfaces, avoid harsh chemicals. For oiled wood, re-oil periodically. For upholstery, vacuum regularly and address spills promptly. Lift furniture rather than dragging across floors.
