J46 Chair Set of 2

Solid oak, natural oil, and the spoke-back that outsold every other chair in Denmark — as a pair.

This FDB Møbler set of two J46 chairs renders Poul Volther's 1956 design in nature-oiled solid oak — heartier grain than the beech versions, with a finish that patinates and can be re-oiled for decades of service.

Common Questions

Oak or beech J46 — which should I pick?
Oak for stronger grain and an oiled finish you can refresh yourself; painted or lacquered beech for color and wipe-clean simplicity. Comfort and geometry are identical.

How do I maintain oiled oak chairs?
Occasional re-oiling restores the surface — no refinishing required — and everyday marks blend into the patina rather than standing out.

Care Guide +

FDB Møbler furniture is crafted from FSC-certified wood, powder-coated steel, and OEKO-TEX textiles. Keep away from direct heat and sunlight. Dust with a soft cloth; clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. For lacquered surfaces, avoid harsh chemicals. For oiled wood, re-oil periodically. For upholstery, vacuum regularly and address spills promptly. Lift furniture rather than dragging across floors.
