Black leather against a fan of turned oak spokes — the 1978 spoke-back armchair in its most graphic pairing.

Erik Ole Jørgensen drew the J146 for FDB Møbler in 1978, its curved back and armrests nodding to the designers who built the Danish cooperative's reputation. Trained as an upholsterer before he became a furniture designer, he shaped the loose black leather cushions and the nature lacquered oak frame as one composition, each made for the other.
