The interplay between cushion and frame is where Erik Ole Jørgensen — upholsterer turned designer — did his best work.

His 1978 J149 three-person couch for FDB Møbler rests loose cushions in Main Line Flax Light Grey (02) on a nature-lacquered solid oak spoke-back frame. The pale grey against pale oak makes this the most understated colorway in the series.
